    Total station magnification

Total station has a 30X Objective

    • Magnify 30X clear and bright. Effective aperture 48mm.
    • Laser plummet for options. Absolute angle encoder system.
    • Eyepiece. The DUT can be fine-tuned and more accurate.
    • Locking screw. For horizontal and vertical spirals, fine-tuning is more accurate.
    • Reflectorless. Pointing directly at the target point makes it more convenient to find the target.
    Total station screen

Total station with double LCD display

    • Large screen with a time display. High-brightness background lighting.
    • On-board software and memory. Use the powerful onboard software to measure offsets, missing lines, resection, or quickly generate a map.
    • Data output. You'll never need to worry about losing critical information, since the large internal memory stores up to 40,000 points, that can be uploaded or transferred through the RS-232 data port or USB.
    • Keyboard. All English numbers. The operation is simple.

    Applications

A total station is a versatile and highly precise surveying instrument that integrates an electronic theodolite with an electronic distance meter (EDM) to measure angles and distances simultaneously. SISCO total stations are used in various surveying and engineering applications, including land surveying, construction, road and rail alignment, topographic surveying, geodetic surveys, mining and tunneling, utilities and infrastructure, mapping, GIS, bridge and dam construction, and agricultural land management.

    FAQs

Q1: What is a total station?
A1: A total station is a surveying instrument that combines an electronic theodolite with an electronic distance meter (EDM) and a microprocessor to accurately measure angles, distances, and elevations. It is used in construction, land surveying, and other geospatial measurements.

Q2: How does a total station work?
A2: A total station works by measuring the angle between two points and the distance to the target point using a laser or infrared beam. The device's microprocessor calculates the precise coordinates of the target point, which can be stored and used for further analysis.

Q3: What are the main components of a total station?

A total station is a sophisticated surveying instrument that integrates various components to measure angles, distances, and elevations accurately. Here are the main components of a total station.

    • Electronic Theodolite: Measures horizontal and vertical angles.
    • Electronic Distance Meter (EDM): Measures distances using a laser or infrared signal.
    • Microprocessor: Processes data and performs calculations.
    • Display and Interface: Shows measurements and allows user input.
    • Optical or Laser Plummet: Assists in centering the instrument over a point.

Tips: What is a prism, and why is it used with total stations?

A prism is an optical device made of glass or other transparent materials, typically shaped like a geometric prism, with flat, polished surfaces. It is designed to refract, reflect, or split light. In surveying, prisms are often used as targets for distance measurement devices like total stations.

Total stations, which are electronic/optical instruments used in modern surveying, utilize prisms to measure distances accurately. The total station emits a laser or infrared signal that reflects off the prism back to the instrument. By calculating the time it takes for the signal to return, the total station can determine the precise distance to the prism. This method allows for highly accurate measurements over long distances, making prisms essential tools in topographic surveys, construction, and engineering projects.
