Hipot tester calibration

Calibrating a hipot tester typically requires using a certified standard voltage source or high-voltage calibrator to compare the instrument's output voltage, leakage current measurement accuracy, and alarm thresholds item by item. The calibration process includes: checking if the high-voltage output matches the settings, verifying if the leakage current measurement error is within the allowable range, and confirming that the timer and protection devices are functioning correctly. Calibration should be performed in a professional laboratory or qualified institution, and calibration results should be recorded periodically to ensure the hipot equipment maintains long-term accuracy and stability.

Hipot meter testing

Testing typically involves simulating an actual hipot test procedure to verify the hipot analyzer's proper operation. High voltage is applied using a standard load or dummy load, and the stability of the output voltage is observed. A standard resistor is used to simulate leakage current, and the accuracy of the hipot meter's displayed value is checked. When approaching or exceeding the set leakage current threshold, the overcurrent protection and breakdown alarm functions are confirmed to respond promptly. These steps determine the reliability of the hipot tester in a real-world testing environment.
